Completely terrifying.

Plastic Beach

Have seen the cover for this album about a lot but it wasn't until I saw it on a massive poster on the tube that I realised how good it is. I thought it was just a drawing like the rest of the Gorrilaz stuff but on closer inspection it seems to be a well photographed model. Looks like a cross between Tracy Island and Charlie Chalk.

I've got the X Factor

It seems my forays into the music world are still continuing. Hear me singing my heart out at: http://www.myspace.com/benpeppiattmusic

Add me as a friend, spread the news, lets turn me into a pop sensation.

Matt Leines

Discovered Matt Leines' illustrations when I was out in San Francisco. They look like some trippy, psychedelic, aztec feel. Kind of remind me of some mythological Gods, something you might sacrifice someone for.

LOOK MUM! I'M ON THE RADIO!

Despite my good looks I have found myself on the radio. Albeit an amateur one. All in the name of fun though. I've had an hour slot and hope to do a bit more. My show is called 'Instant Satisfaction' and I did it with George Mein. As it was the first broadcast we decided to chose songs that fit with the rough and ready, DIY feel of the whole project. Here's what we played in no particular order. Some you may have heard, some maybe not. All good so give them a listen.

Dee Dee Warwick - You're No Good
The Almighty Defenders - I'm Coming Home
Black Lips - Bow Down And Die (Bandstand Busking recording)
Strange Boys - Laugh At Sex, Not Her
The Black Ryder - Sweet Come Down
The Beatles - Anna (Go To Him)
The Greenhornes - There Is An End
Wu Tang vs The Beatles - Criminology
King Khan & BBQ Show - Spin The Bottle
Black Lips - Boomerang (Two songs by the same artist? Yes. We love them.)
Big Mama Thornton - Hound Dog
Tom Waits - Lie To Me
Electrelane - Birds (Live)
Joy Division - Digital
Wendy Rene - After Laughter (Comes Tears)
The Brian Jonestown Massacre - It Girl
TV On The Radio - Mr Grieves (Pixies Cover)
The Beta Band - It's Over

You can listen to Radio Shed every Tuesday from 7 till 11. Just go to http://flavors.me/radioshe

Radical

Creative, playful and inventive. How board sports can inform design. The snowboarding movie is a clip from 'Lame', a film by Robot Food and the skate movie is the DVS entry in the 2008 Skate & Create competition.

Marti Guixe

Ever since I saw some of his work in an exhibition back in 2008 I have been a fan of Marti Guixe. He creates simple interactive designs that always seem to strike a chord. He has a real eye for materials and always seems to find a personal truth in what he is designing. His products work perfectly but don't intimidate you behind a professional sheen, instead he excites and inspires your creativity. I think his football tape is my favorite. See his work at http://www.guixe.com/index.htm

Sweet Ride

Saw this car parked outside Sainsbury's. I want.

I LOVE SAN FRANCISCO

A few of my photographs form my trip to San Francisco over Easter. It is probably the best city ever.

The Tragic Demise of the Human Hand Dryer

The video I created for the nationwide Giff Gaff tool hire video competition with Helen Parry. We hired the Human Hand Dryer and decided to pitt it against a Dyson Airblade. It didn't fare too well. Our video was nominated in the funniest video category for the Giff Gaff awards. We came a close second to Lady Gaga. Massive bitch.

Pride and Joy

Fixed up my Dad's old record player. A bit of tender love and care and now works a treat.

Through Wear and Tear

This is a response to a brief about consumerism. We wanted to tackle the shopping culture that breeds a throwaway attitude to possessions and discourages sentimentality. We wanted people to form a stronger bond with their clothing so we recreated the shopping experience.

The first video I ever made.

The first video I ever made, back when I was just 18. A music video for the Flaming Lips song, 'Bad Days'. My Dad stars in the leading role. My little brother gets slapped in the face.
